We’re excited to announce additional features for Garmin Connect, our free online community that lets users save, plan and share their activities. New features include multisport support, a redesigned activity detail page, groups for daily activity trackers, and group leaderboards based on activities. These features are available for users now in the modern view of Garmin Connect, and will be available in Q4 on Garmin Connect Mobile.

Multisport support* – Whether users are completing a brick workout, or competing in a triathlon, duathlon and more, Garmin Connect will recognize the multisport activity and show a complete view of the overall results. With the new activity detail page, multisport users can also now see their total time, distance, average heart rate and more for the whole activity, as well as individual legs of the multisport activity.

Activity Detail Page Redesign – The new design of the activity detail page integrates charts and maps together to help users better analyze their activities, and easily view the information most important to them. Added benefits include a larger map, the ability to playback an activity on the same page without needing to switch to a different view, and viewing cumulative lap times for runs.

Groups for Daily Activity Trackers – Garmin Connect groups now include step data from daily activity tracking devices including the vívofit®, vívosmart™Forerunner® 15 and Forerunner 920XT. Users have the flexibility to create groups based on step data only, or step data along with running mileage. To create a group in Garmin Connect, simply click on the “+” on the upper right hand side of the group widget on the dashboard or on the groups page and follow the instructions.

Group Leaderboards – Users can include weekly leaderboards based on their Garmin Connect groups’ needs, competing on weekly mileage or step goals. To include a leaderboard on a group page, users with admin privileges can click the admin settings tab on the group page and then click the “Leaderboard” option in the Features Settings at the bottom of the page.

*Compatible with multisport devices including the Forerunner® 920XT, 910XT, 310XT, fēnix™ 2, and fēnix 2 Special Edition.
