Hampstead Triathlon Club Beginners package – ideal starter for London Triathlon

Over the past couple of months Hampstead Triathlon Club have been working with the organisers of the ITU World Triathlon in Hyde Park, London to help encourage new people to triathlon.

As a result they have a great opportunity for beginners to take part in a Hampstead Triathlon Club Beginners package that leads straight into their first Triathlon at London Hyde Park on Saturday May 30th. This is the same course used in the London 2012 Olympic Games. See the website here ITU World Triathlon London 2015

The triathlon will be the shortest “Tri it Distance” often known as a Super Sprint triathlon and the race distances are a 400m open water swim, 15.5km Bike and a 2.5km run. This is a fantastic distance for your first triathlon in superb surroundings!

The package, outlined below, is ideal for someone who would like to do their first Triathlon. The Hampstead Triathlon Club beginners package includes:

– Entry to the “Tri it Distance” race at the ITU World Triathlon at London’s Hyde Park on Saturday 30th May

– 10 coached sessions of your choice with Hampstead Triathlon Club (recommended sessions below)

– A personal Triathlon coach who will give you a training plan and guide you through your training.

– A months membership with Hampstead Triathlon Club in the month of June.

The package runs from April 1 to race day, if you don’t do all the 10 sessions you can do them at a time that is good for you after the race.

Recommended sessions 

2 Pool swim sessions –  to work on technique improvement.

2  Open water swim session –  (Lido or lake) to practice sighting, swimming in groups, drafting, getting wetsuit off ect

2 Bike sessions – at Regents Park to work on technique, gearing and pace.

2 Transition session – at Regents Park to work on transition skills and to a do a race simulated workout to include lots of transitions.

2 Run session on the Track – To work on Technique and pacing,

The price for the whole package is £150 and places are strictly limited so don’t delay!

They can also help with hiring of wetsuits and bikes for the season if required. Just let us know and we can work out what would suit best.
