Some good ideas. Try compression gear. It stops your muscles wobbling about when you run. Otherwise yes: diet , hydration, salt, stretch as you say. (Beer won’t hurt that much)

Right at the end of yesterday's race my left hamstring cramped up. It was literally the last 30 feet or so. I think I need to stretch a little more pre and post running and also ensure that I am adequately hydrated on marathon Monday. I've also decided to stop drinking for the week prior to the marathon.
