An awesome weekend of duathlon fun and action has just finished. Not only were there the ENGLISH Standard Distance Champs on Sat 28th, there was the ETU Sprint Championships on Sunday 29th and the Long(er) distance Powerman Championships also on the 29th.
Once again World AG Std Champ Stuart Hall would probably be the age-adjusted overall English Champion but he was pipped into overall 4th in the English champs by 3 young whipper snappers. Still the AG champ of course. Well done Julian Longs & Parys Edwards overall M&F winners.
Also noteworthy was former world champion Peter Wheddon going long in the Powerman and again taking ANOTHER deserved World AG Gold as did an amazing Richard Anderson. Oh and did I mention overall Power (wo)man European Champion Lucy Gossage adding to Kate Hewson’s awesome Gijon World’s achievement. Wow! That must be the achievement of the weekend.
In the Sprints, also AG golds for several including: Phil Holland (beating Nick Shasha into silver); Edward Snelling; and David Littlemore.
There were many other GB medalists and new English AG champions of course, sorry too many to list 😉
Ah well, maybe next year for me, I need some new kit, a sponsor and oh yes a wee bit of training 🙂
