Shapewear socks – something a little different

I have been looking some more recently into performance socks and performance wear in general. Specifically revisiting 2XU and CompresSport. Whilst still good, those products don’t seem to have changed too much over the last few years.

By accident I stumbled across strammermax.com. They have a range of products from upper posture based tops to sock that you might wear on a flight to prevent DVT.

Their sock product looked interesting. Rather than a generic material for the entire piece of clothing they have different materials with different properties for, in this case as shown in the diagram at the start, differing functional needs. So the sock has ankle stability, calf support and a little something to stop the smelly feet from becoming too noxious !

Here is an excerpt from the manufacturer’s website:

Emana® is a revolutionary development from Solvay in the field of textiles. This technological breakthrough has rendered possible the creation of new bioactive apparel which enhances well-being through an unprecedented synergy between the fabric and the skin.

Emana®, Solvay’s polyamide 6.6-based smart yarn, has a far infrared technology that uses human body heat to benefit skin care. Thanks to bioactive minerals embedded in the yarn, Emana® absorbs body heat and emanates far infrared rays back to the skin, resulting in thermo-regulation properties and improved micro-circulation of the blood.

The result is a unique formula which improves skin elasticity, reduces the appearance of cellulite, and results in smoother, more youthful skin.

For athletes, Emana® improves sports performance and reduces muscle fatigue, reducing oxygen consumption and promoting speedier recovery

All of the Emana® benefits have been scientifically proven, and its intelligent properties will continue to deliver an undiminished effect even after repeated washes.

Emana® has been class-I certified under the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which testifies that no harmful substances are present in the product.
