My Microsoft BAND kindly said goodnight to me last night when I put it in sleep mode.
This morning it gave me simple clear information: Sleep Quality 93%…some things don’t change and 10 years on such simple, focussed sleep information is given by the WHOOP 4 strap.
Isn’t that the KEY information we need? I’ve spent ages with other manufacturers trawling through complicated graphs of highs and lows of sleep cycles. In reality, are we going to trawl through that data every day for the rest of our lives?
Of course not.
93% is the simple 1 second to read info we need.
Does all this running make you tired but you are having problems sleeping to get the recovery? Try Eight Sleep Pod 4 (review) to boost your recovery hours.
This sort of thing shows that Microsoft have actually thought about the USER EXPERIENCE of the device rather than just features and functions

My favourite kit and nutrition
- Maurten — the race nutrition trusted by elite athletes. Gels and drink mix engineered to be easy on the stomach.
- Garmin 90-degree charging adapter — the small adapter that keeps your charging cable tidy at the stem. Essential for race day.
- Garmin charging puck — the fastest and most reliable way to top up your Garmin before a session.
- Ravemen FR300 — front light that mounts directly under your Garmin or Wahoo head unit. Keeps your bars clean and your beam pointed where it matters.
- Garmin Varia RTL515 — radar rear light that alerts you to vehicles approaching from behind. Pairs with your Edge or Garmin watch.
- Stryd — the footpod that brings running power to your Garmin. The single most useful running upgrade I have made.
- Favero Assioma Pro RS2 — the power meter pedals most serious cyclists end up choosing. Accurate, easy to move between bikes.

Better than Jaybird REIGN?
well that is a very good question indeed. And one that I hope to be able to answer in due course. I have heard some EXCELLENT things about the REIGN and am talking with them. At present I have no material comment to make.
