New RunScribe PRO – Gen 2 Hits The Streets

RunscribeThe new generation of the ‘running form/gait’ product RUNSCRIBE has now been released to a waiting running world.

I’ve just opened up and charged up the two pods and I’m contemplating going for a run.

ESSENTIAL READING: Detailed Runscribe Review (Here)

The whole package is physically very well put together and the components all ooze quality construction.

That doesn’t mean it works of course!! But the first generation product was generally well received and so I have high hopes for this one.

The two RUNSCRIBE pods are each nearly identical to Garmin FOOTPODS.

You can buy the RunScribe PRO <here> directly from the manufacturer at US$199. Not cheap, but how much is a PR/PB worth to you and how much could you save in fees for physio’s for injury rehab?

Edit: Thoughts and/or review to follow after I’ve used them a bit but after one run it does look quite impressive.

  1. Are you sure about the price? I thought that the New Runscribe costs $199 and is only sold as a pair because of them focusing more on symmetry metrics.

  2. Im looking at some way to analyze my gait and running overall as part of my recovery form surgery of a burst appendix (with complications). After 45 days in hospital, i lost much muscle weight, and walking recovery with a stick a s support left my right leg weaker than the left. On top of this i have a still healing incision through my abdominal muscles between my center point towards the right side>
All this combined with the fact that i lost15 kg, of which i recovered 8 mostly in belly fat, makes me worried that the imbalance will result in injury when i get back ti running in december even if i start slowly with some Run/Walk program.

Anyway, I wanted to ask about your experience of Runscribe – it seems to me as if you get a lot of data, but not that much about how to interpret it, and even less suggestions on how to correct flaws in your gait? On that point Runteq Zoi seems better, but Zoi is lacking the option to put a pod on both left and right shoes, making it more difficult to analyze imbalances?

    1. hi Stefan. I hope your rehab goes well.
I have only had runscribe 2 days. It does look good. more info will follow. I have not YET looked at Zoi…I will do in a few months time as there is some new stuff coming to that product. another option is a sole-based Kinematix TUNE which is reviewed on this site. Also there is SHFT.run…again I have not reviewed that. hopefully I will be better able to answer your question in the future!! Let me know how it goes with whichever product you choose.
