Cyber Monday / Black Friday deals – bit of a con?

There’s some great deals coming up on amazon NOW especially with previous years’ models at lowest ever prices.

I’ve just seen an Amazon warehouse deal for a £299 Garmin 920XT…that’s a bit of a con for a ‘deal’, especially when they were less than US$200 last week.

If you are looking for relatively new products like the latest Garmin Edge 820 or Forerunner 630 you might be disappointed with only a small discount. Indeed if you dug into the price histories some more you would find that there may have been better deals to be had quite some time ago.

All I’m saying is don’t get carried away with what appears to be a good price. You’re probably only going to get genuinely good deals for products that meet these criteria: end-of-line/pending-replacement OR over-stocked/don’t sell much.

So these ARE CURRENT AND GOOD PRODUCTS AT all-time low prices …  but you probably don’t want those models!

You can find lots of blogs that list the current price vs. the rrp. That doesn’t help you find a great deal. The RRPs have most likely been discounted for months by online shops.

If you click on the flags icons under the SHOP to the top right of this page then all the products listed there are generally good products and the Amazon click-through is always to the best-priced CURRENT amazon deal – which may, or may not, be a good deal. You’ll have to keep checking back from Friday through to Monday. And it’s a bit time-consuming, sorry.

ive bought some days ago a M400 from amazon warehouse (-20% on everything) for 65€!

you can also get latest products rather cheap on amazon warehouse deals if you don´t care if they are “used” which is usually still very new.
for example
Garmin Forerunner 235 185€
