The first Runscribe PLUS CIQ Data Field is here. ‘SHOCK’
My understanding is that RunScribe PLUS units are shipping just about ‘now’. So you will have a nice data field to play with in real time on your watch.
“Which watch?” I hear you ask.
Handily, it’s quite a few of them as shown on the image below.
We shall see if the Fenix 5 and 5S can actually work with it in the real world (before they are replaced with PLUS versions that REALLY do work with sensors).
Here’s a link to the data field itself. (Link to garmin.com)

I’ve had big hopes for runscribe since I received my first Kickstarter units a couple of years ago. The metrics are both interesting and useful. For example, I worked hard to transition from heel to forefoot striking in 2016 and its the only device that gave actual feedback of progress in doing this. It’s amazingly easy to convince yourself you’re landing on mid/front when you’re soooo not!
From day one of connect iq I was hopeful that runscribe would deliver real time metrics. We’re almost there… Just an android app update to go!
I’ve not the force metrics much yet – but there’s definitely scope there to improve my running form!
Looking forward to you and DCR having a play with these and giving us your thoughts… (and I’ve not even mentioned power!!)
you have to mention power.
how were the calves with the transition?
Sore! I’ve always had quite tight calves, so I just need to make I roll, massage and stretch.
