If you prefer to get your devices via Amazon and are in the market for a new Garmin Fenix 5 Plus then, broadly speaking, the larger Amazon geographical sites are now either shipping or should ship at the end of this week.
- Amazon UK is taking orders for the 5S Plus and 5 Plus and still does not have an active listing for the 5X Plus. Shipping will start later this week on the 5 Plus and 5S Plus. The 5X Plus lack of stock is probably for the same reason as with the original 5X ie Garmin has given exclusive distribution initially to select companies like COTSWOLD (link to: cotswold.co.uk, I have no association with them)
- Germany/France/Spain/Italy – seem to have all PLUS models and shipping. It looks like they are fulfilled by Amazon and hence can be returned within one month if not satisfied
- USA – seem to have all models and shipping. It looks like they are fulfilled by Amazon and hence can be returned within one month if not satisfied
European 3rd party resellers will soon likely start listing 5X Plus models on amazon.co.uk via the amazon marketplace, you will find returns slightly more difficult. It’s not a problem but just be sure you know who you are buying from. But also double-check the prices as the marketplace prices may well be initially higher than the RRP.
The 5 PLUS and 5S PLUS are now very much seen as the ‘same product’ but just in a slightly different size. As an example, the 5 Plus link below goes through to let you choose the size ie either the 5 or 5S. Sometimes the 5X Plus is also listed as another size variant eg on Garmin’s online shop..
