Following the recent demise of the Humon Hex muscle sensor, MOXY has very kindly offered Hex users an alternative way forward with a trade-in offer.
HERE are the details and caveats of the offer, although here they are in a nutshell.
- Your Hex must be in unmodified, proper working order and with the charging cradle and strap.
- You have to buy a MOXY
- You get $150 off the Moxy’s RRP of $819 (Hex cost approx $260-$300 when new)
Perhaps handy for sports labs, perhaps less handy for sing-Hex users like me. But that OK, I’m keeping mine in any case as it will probably still work fine for years to come.

It will be interesting to see who buys Hex. Perhaps an acquisitive company like Wahoo, perhaps an already successful sensor-based company like STRYD, perhaps a brave VC, perhaps no-one.

My favourite kit and nutrition
- Maurten — the race nutrition trusted by elite athletes. Gels and drink mix engineered to be easy on the stomach.
- Garmin 90-degree charging adapter — the small adapter that keeps your charging cable tidy at the stem. Essential for race day.
- Garmin charging puck — the fastest and most reliable way to top up your Garmin before a session.
- Ravemen FR300 — front light that mounts directly under your Garmin or Wahoo head unit. Keeps your bars clean and your beam pointed where it matters.
- Garmin Varia RTL515 — radar rear light that alerts you to vehicles approaching from behind. Pairs with your Edge or Garmin watch.
- Stryd — the footpod that brings running power to your Garmin. The single most useful running upgrade I have made.
- Favero Assioma Pro RS2 — the power meter pedals most serious cyclists end up choosing. Accurate, easy to move between bikes.
