Garmin Quatix 6X Solar
The latest addition to the Garmin Fenix 6 range is the Garmin Quatix 6X Solar. This is the existing Garmin Fenix 6X Solar with an aquatic twist for sailors.
There are several sail-based features including stream data, marine waypoints, Sailassist, FusionLink onboard entertainment control, autopilot control and Bluetooth G3 charts.
Of course, the key techy addition is the SOLAR charging giving 30 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and up to an additional 5 days when solar charging or 20 hours more in GPS mode. There is also a pretty cool and light titanium case and band, a snip at $999.99

Sailing. A hobby that makes cycling look cheap 🙂
Thousand Dollars…
I mean that’s chump change for people that sail for a hobby. It seems to me like Garmin is going further towards the Tesla Business model as they offer more and more products geared towards the very wealthy and offering a pittance for the rest of the population. That or a really stripped down version for everyone else.
indeed so 🙂
O Forerunner 655, Where Art Thou?
Alas, poor rumour! I knew him, FR655: a watch
of infinite features, of most excellent beauty: he hath
borne me on his wrist a thousand times (in my imagination);
That’s what you get when you start quoting Shakespeare at me 😉 he he he. 1030+/130+ are next and a few weeks away
Get that Shakespeare in now, because the Globe Theatre is about to close, Permanently.
really?
i guess they rely on tourists.
Hi do you have any idea when will it be available to buy? It seems cheaper than a marq watch with better features and a pretty good looking and quite a light case.
Garmin Say q2.2020 which means next month at the latest.
Hi just in connection to this. I would expect them to upgrade the Marq line fairly soon. Any rumours as to when this might be? Thanks.
none of the MARQ
Will there be any update expeced on the fenix 6x solar this year?
a new fenix?
most updated info is here: https://the5krunner.com/2020/05/11/may-2020-sports-watch-update/
there ARE leaks about stuff this year with the fenix BUT personally I think it will be 2021.
all that could happen this year is trickle-down of the solar functionality to other Fenix 6 models.
Thanks.
You just gave me convidence to replace my 5x plus with the new solar one 👍😁
