Garmin fenix 6 specifications reviewTop Reviews in 2020

Here is a list of your favourite reviews from 2020 on this site. By favourite, I mean ‘most read’.

  1. Garmin Forerunner 745 – Yes, really, it was the most-read. I was surprised too. Everyone’s favourite smaller version of the Forerunner 945 (without maps and with a believable battery life claim). Forerunner 955 soon? Whilst the 745 is the #1 most read its’ definitely NOT #1 most bought.
  2. Garmin Fenix 6 Series and 6 Solar – The Solar functionality got much higher levels of interest than I expected. Fenix 6 Deals were one of the most clicked-on sets of links for readers looking for a bargain during the Black Friday period.
  3. Coros Pace 2 – This generated a lot of interest on the grounds that it was ‘obviously good’ and ‘obviously well-priced’, perhaps even obviously the best running watch in many people’s eyes. It developed much higher levels of interest than previous Coros products. However, the stock problems are only now just about sorted.
  4. Polar Grit X – Blimey, number 4! This one surprised me. Perhaps the more recent Polar Vantage V2 will overtake it once it’s had time to accumulate the hits.
  5. Polar H9 Review – Again this one surprised me. Neither of these Polars sells in the same numbers as the Garmin or, indeed, Garmins that rank lower on the list of my top review posts.

  1. I wouldn’t be surprised if many people read the 745 review simply because they were looking/hoping to step up/down from older generations like the 645, 735XT and 935. Personally, I was looking for a direct replacement of my FR735XT, and was severely disappointed with the price/feature point of the 745.

I ended up with the Coros Pace 2 instead, and their App, lack of integration of exercise plans from 3rd parties (Stryd), a wonky dial interface (stopping your run activity requires 3 individual button activations – just how stupid is that??? – and this is just the most obvious fault) and confusing UI (e.g. The “History” log is called “AI Trainer”) makes me regret the purchase. Sure it is light (but 40g -> 35g isn’t that big of a deal for me), the battery life is great (but so was my FR735XT when it was new), but it is simply not enough for me to recommend it to others.

    1. Totally agree with you about the Pace 2. I wish it had 5 buttons.

Does anyone know whether we’ll see a Suunto 9 Baro 2nd Gen anytime soon?
