Carol Bike 2.0 Black Friday Discount CodeCAROL 2.0 Bike Discount Code

CAR.O.L Bike (Cardiovascular Optimization Logic bike) releases a special Black Friday discount code.

There is a Black Friday discount of £/$250 at CAROL Bikes with code TFK  until Sunday 27 Nov 2022, after which, my TFK100 code will give you £/$100 off.

This is the biggest ever discount for Carol Bike 2.0.

CAROL bikes are an intriguing fitness concept. They are claimed to be high-spec, gym-quality bikes sold mostly to the home market (gyms too). Their USP is around the benefits of very short-duration, glycogen-depleting interval workouts which you can literally do without breaking into a sweat eg 2x 20 seconds @maximal. In and of themselves these workouts are claimed to boost VO2max, certainly for the non-athlete type of person.

CAROL doesn’t claim weight loss based on those specific workouts but that’s where you add in a once-weekly endurance workout.

As always there’s lots of science that underpin this. From what I’ve seen it doesn’t appear to be paid for by the manufacturer and, indeed, I vaguely recall seeing something on the BBC with Dr Michael Mosley a couple of years ago on this topic.

I guess the bottom line is that this probably will boost fitness (VO2max) in certain individuals but there are other physiological markers that are also important to athletes. That said, a quick win to boost VO2max for most people is probably a great idea.

Price: The bike starts at just over £/$2,000.00 plus a monthly subscription and prices are competitive with Peloton and Nordic equivalents.

My favourite kit and nutrition

  • Injinji – Runners protect your toes. Avoid discomfort and minor injury. Run more. Run faster. I use them.
  • Garmin 90-degree charging adapter — The small adapter that keeps your charging cables tidy. Essential for race day. I use one.
  • Garmin charging puck — the fastest and most reliable way to top up your Garmin before a session. I use one.
  • Ravemen FR300 — Front light that mounts directly under your Garmin or Wahoo head unit. Keeps your bars clean and your beam pointed where it matters. I use one.
  • Body Glide – The blue anti-chafe stick that all swimmers and many runners use. I use it.
  • Maurten — The race nutrition trusted by elite athletes. Gels and drink mixes engineered to be easy on the stomach. I use them.
  • Garmin Varia RTL515 — A radar rear light that alerts you to vehicles approaching from behind. Pairs with your Edge or Garmin watch. I use this model.
  • Favero Assioma Pro RS2 — The power-meter pedals most serious cyclists choose. Accurate, easy to move between bikes. I use this model.
  • Garmin Forerunner 970 — A serious choice for a pro-grade triathlon watch. I use this.
  • Polar H10 — My daily driver for accurate, waking HRV readings.
  • Wahoo ELEMNT Roam 3 — The bike computer that has the feature Garmin lacks: usability. I use mine on most rides.
