new Polar PAT Polar’s new optical sensor on the Vantage V3 boasts several new sensing capabilities including ECG/EKG and Skin temperature. There’s also a wholly new heart-health measure that Polar calls Pulse Arrival Time (PAT). PAT is a measure of the time it takes for the blood pulse to travel from the heart to the wrist and hence this is an indirect measure of arterial stiffness. What is a good PAT? A higher PAT is better than a lower one but readings will vary throughout the day so it’s best to take a reading at the same times each day…
