#1
There is new firmware available for the Suunto 9: https://www.suunto.com/Support/Software-.../suunto-9/

Version 2.5.18
Staged release starting November 19, 2018
This update brings new features, added performance enhancements and as well as some fixes (we’ve highlighted a couple below).

New Features:
  • GLONASS is now available and can be activated when needed from the navigation menu

  • New notification at the end of the week showing you a quick summary of your training.

  • Hebrew can now be selected as a language in your Suunto 9.
Enhancements and Fixes:
  • Outdoor settings menu updated to make it easier set your reference altitude.

  • For your activities using ‘ultra’ mode, your display will turn off immediately following notice of lap or autolap, conserving more battery.

  • You can now reset foot pod calibration at pairing

  • Fixed a bug that showed the wrong distance in activity summary despite real distance calculated accurately.

Grrrr. I just did a Suunto 9 GPS test last week and now they go and add GLONASS. FWIW: I'm planning on doing a comparison to the Coros APEX which has the same chipset...maybe this week

Bizarre place to hide away the GLONASS off/on button.

Maybe this should indicate something like "GLONASS only used for navigation, but not sports..."   Confused
