Garmin Edge 130 Plus The revised Garmin Edge 130 for 2020 will be called the Garmin Edge 130 PLUS and it's just been registered on the FCC. This registration confers the status of "certainty" on the other leaks from towards the end of last year which also heralded the Edge 1030 plus, Forerunner 955 LTE and others (here). Let's look at what might be in the Edge 130 PLUS. [/caption] Garmin Edge 130 Plus - Quick Recap Garmin seems now to often have a mid-cycle model between major releases called a PLUS model. We've seen that both with the 520 Plus and with the Fenix 5 Plus. Any other manufacturer would have given the Plus models the status of the next number up ie Edge 530 (at the time) or Fenix 6 (at the time) however Garmin made a good call and took the existing models and beefed up the features and hardware. The Edge 130 is a SMALLER format version of the Edge 520, ideal for stem mounting. It's got a super-small screen BUT is jam-packed full of features AND IS a 'proper' bike computer. Yet, the features are still cut down from those on the Edge 520. We can see how the current Edge 130 feature set has expanded over time, here: Garmin.com. By Garmin standards, you can see that there hasn't been THAT much added to the original product, although the additions of support for CIQ 2.4.5, extended display and Physio TrueUp all worthy of note. For inspiration and divination to discover the new 130Plus feature set, let's take a look at the EXISTING Edge 130's features compared to the 520 and 520 Plus. Perhaps this will give us an idea of what new feature could be rolled down to the new Edge 130 Plus? Clearly there are a couple of things above that could be added to the 130 Plus but there are no insights there that excite me at all. That is frustrating and exciting in equal measure. Frustrating because there is nothing obvious to add but exciting in that it means that the new features will most likely come from the Edge 530 and/or the soon-to-be-announced Edge 1030 Plus (which will have 'proper' new stuff in it). So here's what we might see based on 'stuff that's happened' and the Edge 530 Edge 130 Plus - Guessed-At NEW Features You might have to help me out on these... A colour screen.
