Polar – leaks more info on its WHOOP competitor
via: @RuiP, thank you
Polar has just updated its teaser page for its new Whoop competitor
Once again, the date is confirmed as: SEPTEMBER 03 | 2025, and there is a cryptic invitation to join up to a mailing list and “Stay in the loop”.
The CEO weighs in to claim that a simple wearable that gives (watch-) freedom for health and fitness is what its users have been asking for:
Our users have been asking for a new kind of wearable—one that puts them in control of their health and fitness right out of the box, without the distractions of screens or the pressure of constant notifications. What they want is simplicity and freedom. [Werring, CEO]
That’s backed up by some polar user quotes, which I think are genuine:
- Keep an eye on this, it could be a game-changer in the fitness tech space.
- Some people want to wear a watch but still get their health data…IMO, this will be a winner!
- POLAR is coming to take back its crown
- Polar were the founders of this industry!
- Been waiting for this for ages!
- When it comes to tracking, these guys are the gold standard
- The year of screen-free wearables
- YES POLAR!!! I’m in
Then there are three pieces of info confirming the broad marketing thrust of the product: it will be genuinely subscription-free, with no screen and science-based.
- No Screen – Zero Distractions.
- No Subscription – Pay Once. Own It.
- No Compromise – Style. Science. Simplicity.

Been waiting for a long time for this release. This is probably a case of “make or break”.
I hope this release is accompanied by either much needed UI changes in the app/how metrics are presented. It def needs some cleaning up, whitch metrics hidden way too deep at times (eg. HRV).
The mailing list seems just a regular sign up to polar newsletter. Got a generic email to confirm the process and then a 10% voucher for a future purchase (it’s the standard discount from what I remember when I joined years ago).
I really hope it’s something like the Polar H10 + Polar Beat but on steroids (plus HRV, sleep and some other useful metrics) that would be my dream
