Amer – Strong Q4 Results

Amer Sports is currently under offer to a recent cash tender. However that has not stopped them posting strong Q4.2018 results with net sales in local currencies up by 10% compared to a year ago with 2018 being 7% up on 2017 on the same basis.

CEO Takala said “Growth was strongest in apparel (+41%), boosted by the acquisition of Peak Performance. D2C (+23%) and e-tail (+15%) were again the winning channels, and China (+16%) and USA (+10%) drove geographical growth. Fitness (+9%) had strong top-line momentum but profitability requires further work.”

He also pointed out that it was the ninth striaghtyear of successive, profitable growth.

Amer own several brands including the Suunto brand whose latest product is the Suunto 9 smart outdoors watch.
