Pavey Triumphs At Euros – 10k GOLD

Source BBC Web Site

When talking about triathlon it’s all too easy to go on about Age Group Gold at the ‘Euros’.

However 10k athlete Jo Pavey (40) has just won GOLD at the ‘proper’ European Championships. By anyone’s measure that is an outstanding and remarkable achievement. Especially as this is her first ‘proper’ Gold medal.

And she was thinking of moving up to the marathon a couple of years ago. Wise choice to stick in the middle. She’s up for the 5k in a few days. Watch this space (well the TV at any rate).

Oh and by the way, she had a baby 11 months ago. Definitely a sign that new mothers can return to their former physical glory if they persevere. Or, in this case, presumably BETTER than their previous glory !

Awesome.
