Expert opinion

The Apex 2 Pro was the best watch COROS had made at its launch, built from grade 5 titanium and sapphire with offline maps, market-leading battery life and GPS accuracy at the top of the market. It pairs high-quality materials and a refined case with the digital dial and touchscreen interface COROS took from the Apple Watch.

GPS accuracy is among the best on the market, level with the best Garmin watches of its generation. Battery runs to 75 hours in standard full GPS and 25 hours in dual frequency, well ahead of a Garmin Fenix 7. The physiology layer in EvoLab lacks Garmin’s depth and does not deserve to be treated as measurement. Sensor support is Bluetooth only, which matters to cyclists running ANT+ power meters. The maps are non-routable on the watch, so route creation happens in the phone app, and music is MP3 playback rather than streaming. The COROS app and watch menus work but trail Garmin on depth and polish.
