Expert opinion
The Garmin Forerunner 570 represents the lite version of the company’s high-end 970 option, significant features are cut but many of them are non-core to the experience it delivers in sport. It is also the most feature rich Forerunner in the small 42mm size.
The 570 shares the 970’s Elevate Gen 5 sensor, speaker and microphone, skin temperature tracking, Evening Report, Garmin Triathlon Coach and multi-band GNSS. What it drops is the ECG, the LED flashlight, onboard maps, ClimbPro, the sapphire lens and titanium bezel, and the new running science metrics, Running Tolerance, Running Economy and Step Speed Loss. Storage falls from 32GB to 8GB. It comes in 42mm and 47mm, where the 970 is 47mm only, so the 42mm suits smaller wrists. At GBP 459.99 it is roughly GBP 190 below the 970.
