A small pump inflates a cuff built into the strap, and a pressure sensor reads the pulses in the wrist artery. This oscillometric method is the one most home blood pressure monitors use.

Is the BP Doctor Fit FDA approved?

No. YHE told me the watch has not received FDA 510(k) clearance, and the manual says it is not a medical device and its readings are for reference only.
