Change the Sport or Device in a FIT File

Recorded a ride as a run, or a treadmill session as a road run? Change the sport so your training log and records stay right. You can also change the device the file says it came from.

Change sport

Choose from run, treadmill run, trail run, ride, indoor ride, gravel, pool or open water swim, walk, hike, row and more. Laps and the summary are updated together.

Change device

Some apps decide features, such as segments or training effect, by the recording device. Changing it does not change your data.

Quick answers

Will changing the sport fix my records?
Yes, once you delete the original activity and upload the corrected file, the app files it under the right sport.

Is changing the device allowed?
It changes only a label in your own file. Some apps may treat the activity differently, so use it for your own records.

More free tools for your activity files are on the FIT file tools page.
