It’s good that Garmin has addressed so many bugs so quickly, or it’s just truly awful that there were so many in the first place…and still many more as yet unresolved. There is even news that hackers have now discovered a way to take control of the watch’s boot process. Yikes! Still, they grabbed our cash, and I guess we’ll all eventually be happy to own what will turn out to be the best sports adventure watch…ever.

  1. Wow, that is staggering. When you look at each of those items, well over half of them should never be in a publicly released product.
Where is the accountability for selling something that fails to deliver on promised functionality at a basic level?
I find it staggering that a company would treat their customers like that, using customers as unwitting £1k watch testers.
    Madness

    1. The software team knows well the state of things. But they don’t set the deadlines. It’s a case of release first, fix later. And as long as early adopters keep buying, who can blame them.

  2. In the weekend I saw some good movies from Martin McDonagh and their scripts helped me to describe Garmin’s initial software quality: fecking shite, like.

      1. ha ha ha – I remember when that came out and I rolled my eyes but “frak” has aged pretty well actually.
