Garmin Cirqa Looks Imminent: Two Major Sports Tech Drops Next Week

Update: For the latest confirmed CIRQA details, see the master CIRQA hub. The Muscle Battery trademark, filed in the same period, is a separate product.

All signs point to at least two major endurance brands announcing new products next week, and one of them is almost certainly Garmin.

More specifically, this looks like the moment Cirqa finally breaks cover. Cirqa is Garmin’s answer to Whoop and the screenless wearable category and has been conspicuously absent since it was self-leaked on several of Garmin’s regional sites.

Garmin Cirqa: This Isn’t a Guess Anymore

Ray Maker, whose inside track with Garmin’s unreleased product pipeline is rarely wrong, has signalled that significant Garmin news is coming next week.

Saying:

Some goodness coming next week…you don’t wanna miss that (DCR)

Separately, a Garmin contact — who shall remain nameless — gave me a deliberate nudge-and-wink of the “can’t say any more than that” variety. Not confirming a potential Whoop-busting Cirqa launch, but confirming a “significant drop” soon.

Two independent signals, same window. That combination only means one thing.

The circumstantial case is more compelling. Cirqa first surfaced on Garmin’s own website in January, since when an FCC filing that this site tore apart to show it almost certainly is Cirqa has confirmed the band format in considerable technical detail. The product fills a genuine gap in the lineup. And the timing — late March, ahead of the spring racing season — is exactly when Garmin prefers to move.

A Forerunner 170 or 370 is also possible, but a watch refresh and range filler does not warrant the level of anticipation these two signals are carrying. This is bigger than that.

A further option for Garmin, coinciding with the start of the triathlon season, is a pair of microLED project smart swim goggles. Think FORM Goggles, but with a superior resolution display.

There’s Another Launch Too

Garmin is not the only story next week. At least one other major manufacturer is announcing something, and this one I know about directly — not from leaks or reading the room, but from a source I trust. (Edit: Polar Street X launched)

I am not naming them here. What I can say is that this is a new ‘running’ watch and a new product line rather than a refresh. The timing and positioning suggest the brand is rethinking its approach to the running market. That framing alone is worth paying attention to.

Bottom Line

Next week is real. Two major brands, at least one significant new platform, and a very strong probability that Garmin Cirqa finally goes public. Keep an eye on Tuesday the 24th and Wednesday the 25th.

  1. Fartmin’s “beatch”, DRM, it’s hiding things from people and never share the truth about their filthy tricks!
    Pathetic company and fanboys

  2. Can you provide a source for where DC Rainmaker said that? Looking at his IG and Blog, I can’t seem to find it.

  3. FOMO mode activated. I am really curious about the running watch. Is it Polar or Amazfit? Depending on how you define major manufacturer 😉 But the “rethinking” approach to runners might fit them both. I mean, new watch like Pacer or Cheetah would be nice. I don’t think it will be Suunto or Coros. Definitely not Coros. Suunto is still possible with updated Run model but still the higher probability is for Polar and Amazfit.

  4. It would be great to see a arm band HRM from Garmin. Especially since this should be not too hard to design. Afaik zero arm band HRMs were released in recent years from known brands.

Unfortunately Garmin is focused on the Whoop crowd so this won’t happen.

        1. You can pretty well forget that – this will be priced well above the sleep monitor they released last year which was $180ish? – guessing $100 above that at a minimum.

      1. 100% you are.

It’s obviously round the corner. Can’t recall there being this much anticipation for a product before. If they nail it they’ll sell a boatload of them as well as Connect + subs.
