More: Wahoo ELEMNT ACE Detailed review

I performed a Wahoo beep test recently. Except that the one I performed was significantly easier than the regular beep test, which is sometimes known as a shuttle run. Mine involved pressing a few buttons and recording 12 seconds of YouTube awesomeness. Marques Brownlee, watch out.

I compared the ‘Start’ beep from the three latest generation Wahoo bike computers with an Edge 540 and Wahoo Roam 2.

From left to right, the bike computers are: Roam 2, Wahoo Elemnt Bolt 3, Roam 3, Ace, Edge 540. I chose the Roam 2 as it is the loudest of all the previous generation Wahoo ELEMNTs – I’ll spare you from having to listen to me starting every single previous Wahoo.

Test Results

You can hear that the new Bolt 3 is fractionally quieter. All are Ok.

I had the ACE volume settings on max, and it should also be noted that ACE’s volume settings don’t affect the fixed bell audio volume.

Also Worth Noting

ELEMNT Ace does not allow you to change the volume of the digital bell; however, there are three ACE-only volume settings for everyday use, the quietest being inaudible on a noisy street or even in your pain cave if there is other noise from your trainer and Zwift.
