#0 Regulatory Filing: September 2026
This founding issue covers the regulatory filings of September 2026 from the sports watch and sensor brands this site covers; later issues are weekly. A filing shows that a product exists and is close to sale. Each entry gives the regulator, the model number, what the record reveals and how firm the evidence is.
Other sites push out an alert for every filing the moment it appears. This roundup gathers the month into a single read and keeps your inbox clear. The weekly Deep Dive Digest email covers the wider sports technology news for those who want it.

The most significant filing of the month is Suunto’s OW265 at the FCC on 27 September, the last major approval that the watch reported to be the Race 3S needed before it can be sold in the United States. Garmin has an unidentified Wi-Fi device at the FCC under two model numbers and several further unnamed models in Korea, the UAE and Brazil. Polar’s first appearance is a heart rate monitor recorded as the H12, and Apple’s five Apple Watch grants arrived on 9 September alongside its autumn launch.
Suunto
Model OW265, reported to be the Suunto Race 3S
The FCC granted approval to Suunto Oy for model OW265 on 27 September 2026 under FCC ID RYPOW265. The record describes an “Outdoor Watch” with NFC at 13.56 MHz, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and 5 GHz Wi-Fi. It lists a maximum wrist SAR of 0.116 W/kg and names Shenzhen BALUN Technology as the test firm. Photographs, the user manual and internal images are held back under a confidentiality request until 24 March 2027. The FCC record does not give a product name. Wearable Fans reports that OW265 is the Suunto Race 3S and that the same model was approved in China on 24 August and in Indonesia on 31 August, together with a sibling model, OW266, reported to be the Race 3.
For anyone waiting on a Race replacement, the FCC grant matters more than the Asian approvals because a watch cannot be sold in the United States without it. The presence of NFC and 5 GHz Wi-Fi indicates that contactless hardware and faster map and software downloads are part of the specification, although the record does not say which payment services will be supported. Suunto has not announced the watch in any source read for this issue, and the confidentiality date is a ceiling rather than a launch date, so the timing remains open. OW266 did not appear in the FCC database during September.

Model HR264, a heart rate monitor
A Suunto heart rate monitor was recorded at IMDA in Singapore on 30 September 2026, registered through a local supplier and listed as a Bluetooth device without a model number in the entry seen. A Korean RRA record dated 2 October, two days outside the period covered here, shows a Suunto heart rate monitor with the model number HR264 and the certification reference R-R-SUU-HR264. It is an inference that the two entries describe the same device, although the product type and the timing are consistent.
The model number does not match a Suunto strap or armband named in any source read for this issue, which suggests a new sensor rather than a renewal. Athletes who use a Suunto watch with a third-party chest strap may wish to wait for details before buying a replacement. Neither record reveals whether the device is a chest strap or an optical armband.

Suunto Run 2 (model OW261)
ANATEL in Brazil issued certificate CCPE20260168 for Suunto model OW261 on 24 September 2026, valid until 1 September 2028. The register classes it as a restricted radiation transceiver and names Suunto Oy as the manufacturer. OW261 has been at the FCC since 30 July 2026 under FCC ID RYPOW261, where it is described as an “Outdoor Watch”.
OW261 is reported to be the Suunto Run 2, which launched on 8 September. The Brazilian certificate therefore reveals nothing new about the watch. It does show that Suunto is extending sales to Brazil within weeks of the launch, which is useful to know for buyers there who would otherwise import one.

Garmin
Models 05126 and A5126
The FCC granted approval to Garmin International on 9 September 2026 for two model numbers, 05126 and A5126, under FCC IDs IPH-05126 and IPH-A5126. Both are described as a “Portable Digital Transceiver”. Both carry Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and 5 GHz Wi-Fi across four bands, and both include a body SAR report. The user manual and photographs are confidential until 8 March 2027.
The records give no product name. The pairing of a number with an A-prefixed twin follows the pattern Garmin has used for two versions of one device, and a SAR report indicates a product worn or carried close to the body. Wi-Fi on the 5 GHz band is found on Garmin’s higher-priced watches and bike computers, so this is unlikely to be an entry-level device. The filing cannot be tied to a named product on the evidence available, and the March 2027 confidentiality date is the latest point at which the photographs become public, not a release date.
Evidence: Confirmed at the regulator. Source: fcc.gov for 05126 and fcc.gov for A5126
Models A05220 and AA5220
The TDRA in the United Arab Emirates approved Garmin models A05220 and AA5220 on 23 September 2026 under references ER65454/26 and ER65453/26. The approvals run to 23 September 2029, name Garmin Corporation as the manufacturer and were registered by a local retailer. The register entry gives the brand only and no product name.
The two numbers again look like a pair of versions of one device, and they sit close in sequence to the 05126 pair at the FCC. No FCC record for 05220 was visible on Garmin’s grantee page when it was checked on 2 October. A Gulf approval ahead of an American one is unusual for Garmin, so a matching FCC grant in the coming weeks would be the signal that a launch is near.

Model A05146
The same TDRA batch of 23 September 2026 includes Garmin model A05146 under reference ER65455/26, also valid until 23 September 2029. The entry gives no product name or equipment type.
The number is lower in Garmin’s sequence than the models above, which may mean the device is already known under a product name in other markets. It cannot be identified from the register entry alone, and athletes should treat it as a model to watch, not as evidence of a specific product.

Model A05240
The Korean RRA registered Garmin model A05240 on 28 September 2026 under certification reference R-R-GRm-A05240. The applicant is Garmin Corporation of Taiwan and the equipment class is specific low-power radio equipment, which covers Bluetooth and similar short-range radios.
This is the highest Garmin model number seen during the month and it has no counterpart at the FCC so far. The equipment class is too broad to separate a watch from a bike computer or a sensor. Korean registration usually comes close to retail availability in that market, so further filings for A05240 are likely before the end of the year.

Model A05025
ANATEL in Brazil lists Garmin model A05025 on 21 September 2026 under certificate ICC 04.065/2026.1-I, valid until 25 August 2028. The register places it in the category of systems operating between 57 and 71 GHz and names Garmin International as the manufacturer.
The 57 to 71 GHz band is used for short-range radar. Garmin sells radar products for cycling and also for other markets, and the Brazilian entry does not say which this is. Cyclists should not read it as proof of a new Varia unit until a record with a product description appears.
Evidence: Reported, not independently checked. Source: anatel.gov.br search, model A05025, reported from around the web.
Polar
Polar H12 (model 6M)
ANATEL in Brazil lists a Polar heart rate monitor on 30 September 2026 with the model number 6M and the name H12, under certificate NCC 31118/26, valid until 28 August 2028. The register classes it as a restricted radiation transceiver.
The H12 name places the device above the H10 in Polar’s chest strap range. No Polar announcement of an H12 was found in the sources read for this issue, and Polar’s FCC grantee page showed no new entry after January 2026 when it was checked on 2 October. Athletes considering an H10 may prefer to wait, although a Brazilian certificate on its own gives no indication of price, features or timing.

Apple
Apple Watch models A3579, A3581, A3582, A3584 and A3587
The FCC granted approval for five Apple Watch model numbers on 9 September 2026: A3579, A3581, A3582, A3584 and A3587. The records for A3579 and A3587 were opened for this issue. Both list Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, ultra wideband and cellular bands. The A3579 record also lists the 2483.5 to 2495 MHz band, which is allocated to mobile satellite services.
These grants coincide with the September launch of Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, and they are the approvals for watches that are now on sale. The FCC records do not say which model number belongs to which watch or case size. The satellite band on A3579 matters to athletes who train beyond mobile coverage, and buyers should confirm with Apple which versions carry it.
Evidence: Confirmed at the regulator. Source: fcc.gov for A3579 and fcc.gov for A3587
Amazfit
Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar (model A2570)
The Bluetooth SIG lists the Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar, model A2570, as a smart watch from Anhui Huami Information Technology under listing 184399, recorded on 29 September 2026. The same model number has been at the FCC since 11 August 2026 under FCC ID 2AC8UA2570.
The watch launched on 22 September, so the Bluetooth listing follows the product instead of preceding it. It confirms the model number that buyers will see on the case back and in support documents, and it adds nothing to the published specification.
