Expert opinion
The Pace Pro is a decent upgrade for a Pace 2 or Pace 3 owner. At its launch price it was too expensive for a challenger brand trying to take customers away from the established names. COROS later reduced the US retail price to $299.
The 1.3 inch AMOLED runs at 416 x 416 pixels and 1,500 nits, and the processor offers roughly twice the performance of the Pace 3’s. Offline global maps with trail and street names are the reason to choose it over the Pace 4, which navigates by breadcrumb only. Battery runs to 38 hours on all systems and 31 hours in dual frequency, falling to 28 and 24 hours with the always-on display. GPS scored 81 per cent on the standard test used on this site, which is good but behind the Pace 3. Optical heart rate was poor across most runs and rides in the same testing, and worst on the road bike. Elevation under-recorded unless calibrated by hand at the start of a session. Storage is 32GB, an ECG sensor is fitted, and there is no microphone.
