Expert opinion
The GT 5 Pro introduced a Pro tier to the GT series for the first time, splitting the range by material rather than just size: titanium and nanocrystal ceramic at 46mm, ceramic alone at 42mm, against the standard GT 5’s stainless steel. Huawei’s own figures put battery life at up to 14 days on the 46mm and 7 days on the 42mm, roughly half that again with the always-on display enabled. ECG, freedive certification to 40 metres and a golf-specific mode came with the Pro tier; the standard GT 5 launched without them. Huawei has since carried the Pro naming forward into the GT 6 generation, making this the model that established the split.
