Expert opinion
Pacer shares its processor, memory and MIP display resolution with the Pacer Pro but drops the barometer, compass, aluminium bezel, route guidance and Hill Splitter. Wrist-based speed and distance, running power via a third-party sensor such as Stryd, and the core FitSpark and Training Load Pro suite all carry over unchanged from the Pro model.
Battery capacity, display resolution, water rating and case weight are effectively identical to the Pacer Pro; the differences sit entirely in navigation hardware and case materials. At launch, Pacer beat the equivalent-tier Ignite 2 on both price and features, effectively displacing it in Polar’s lineup at the time.
