Expert opinion
Vantage V3 is Polar’s flagship, carrying the largest battery, the largest display and the full Elixir Gen 4 sensor suite in the current range: ECG, SpO2, skin temperature and PAT, a blood-pressure-related arterial health metric unique to this generation of Polar sensor. Storage rose to 32GB to hold offline TOPO maps, a first for the Vantage line.
Two capabilities were dropped from the V2. Water resistance fell from WR100 to WR50, and the watch no longer carries MIL-STD accreditation. Turn-by-turn navigation works only with Komoot-sourced routes, which requires a separate Komoot subscription for full route creation. Bands moved to a standard 22mm quick-release, replacing Polar’s earlier proprietary connector.
