Question 1

Which of these screenless trackers is cheapest overall?

Accepted Answer

The Amazfit Helio Strap and Fitbit Air both start at $99.99 with no required subscription. Helio Strap Pro, CIRQA and Polar LOOP sit at $199.99 as one-time purchases. WHOOP is the only device bundled into an annual membership, starting at $199 per year.

Question 2

Does WHOOP require a subscription?

Accepted Answer

Yes. WHOOP hardware is bundled into membership rather than sold separately. Tiers run from $199 per year (One) up to $359 per year (Life), which is the only route to the WHOOP MG hardware with its ECG and blood pressure trend features.

Question 3

Do I need an Amazfit watch to use Helio Strap Pro?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for the full system. The waist motion pod and its HYROX per-station analysis require pairing with a compatible Amazfit watch: Balance 3 and Balance Ultra at launch, and Active Max since its October 2026 update. The arm or wrist heart rate sensor alone works as a standalone tracker without a compatible watch.

Question 4

Which of these trackers has a physical button?

Accepted Answer

Garmin CIRQA is the only device in this group with a physical button, letting you manually start an activity, snooze an alarm or broadcast heart rate without opening the app. LOOP, WHOOP, Helio Strap Pro and Fitbit Air are all buttonless and rely on autodetection or the app.

Question 5

WHOOP vs Fitbit Air: which should I buy?

Accepted Answer

WHOOP wins on app depth, workout autodetection and battery life at 14 days versus 7, and the MG tier adds an ECG option Fitbit Air doesn’t offer. Fitbit Air wins on price at $99.99 with no required subscription, and is the lightest device in this comparison at 12g. Choose WHOOP for serious training and recovery coaching, Fitbit Air for casual wellness tracking without a recurring cost.

Question 6

Is Polar LOOP or WHOOP better?

Accepted Answer

WHOOP has the stronger app and remains the benchmark for autodetection and coaching depth in this category. Polar LOOP is the cheaper option with no subscription required, and fits naturally alongside an existing Polar watch. Buy WHOOP for the deepest recovery insight, LOOP for a one-time purchase within the Polar ecosystem.

Question 7

Fitbit Air vs Amazfit Helio Strap: which is cheaper?

Accepted Answer

Both launch at $99.99 with no required subscription, so there’s no price winner between them. Fitbit Air is lighter and has the widest band selection at launch. The Amazfit Helio Strap has a slightly more polished app and, via its Pro tier, unique HYROX-specific tracking that Fitbit Air doesn’t attempt.

Question 8

Is WHOOP more accurate than Fitbit Air?

Accepted Answer

On the wrist, they were close in my testing. In a running interval session, WHOOP and Fitbit Air agreed with each other more closely than any other devices tested, and both matched the CIRQA within about a beat in a HYROX simulation and an outdoor ride. WHOOP’s advantage is its bicep band, which Fitbit Air lacks: on the biceps, WHOOP matched a reference heart rate source with a 0.98 correlation across 19 workouts.

Question 9

Garmin watch or WHOOP: which should I buy?

Accepted Answer

A Garmin watch shows data on the wrist, records GPS and needs no subscription, and worn overnight it tracks sleep, HRV and training readiness. WHOOP has no screen or GPS and costs from $199 a year, but has the stronger recovery and coaching app. Athletes who already train with a Garmin can add CIRQA for the nights the watch stays off; WHOOP suits those who value its app over a screen and GPS.

Question 10

CIRQA vs WHOOP: which should I buy?

Accepted Answer

CIRQA is the cheaper one-time purchase at $199.99 with no required subscription, and it’s the only device here with a physical button. WHOOP costs more over time but delivers a deeper app, stronger autodetection and, on the MG tier, ECG and blood pressure tracking. Choose CIRQA if you already own a Garmin watch and want a no-subscription companion, WHOOP for the more capable app and coaching.

Question 11

CIRQA vs Fitbit Air: which is better?

Accepted Answer

CIRQA costs more upfront at $199.99 versus Fitbit Air’s $99.99, but includes a physical button and ties into the wider Garmin Connect ecosystem. Fitbit Air is lighter, cheaper and has the widest band range at launch. Existing Garmin owners get more value from CIRQA; everyone else, Fitbit Air is the easier buy.

Question 12

CIRQA vs Amazfit Helio Strap: which should I buy?

Accepted Answer

Both are one-time purchases with no required subscription, though CIRQA is $199.99 against the base Helio Strap’s $99.99. CIRQA has a physical button and full Garmin ecosystem integration; the Helio Strap Pro adds unique HYROX-specific muscular load tracking that CIRQA doesn’t attempt. The right choice depends on which ecosystem, Garmin or Amazfit, you’re already in.

Question 13

CIRQA vs Polar LOOP: which is better?

Accepted Answer

Both cost $199.99 with no subscription, so price isn’t the deciding factor. CIRQA has a physical button and feeds into Garmin Connect; Polar LOOP is buttonless with a plainer app but fits naturally alongside a Polar watch. Buy the one that matches the watch brand you already own.
