The following is the location of the firmware which you will need to download. Please use the SAVE AS option (or the equivalent for your operating system).

You need to download and then rename it to a .zip file as wordpress won’t let me host .zip files. But it is the right one really, honest! Don’t do it if you don’t believe me. Alternatively you can get the same files and instructions from:
So************@ga****.com
After downloading and renaming to .zip follow these instructions:
For PC:
1. Navigate to this folder location:
a. Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User account name\Application Data\GARMIN\Devices\numbered Unit ID folder
b. Windows Vista / 7 / 8: C:\Users\User account name\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Devices\numbered Unit ID folder
2. Unzip or drag and drop the files inside attachment to location above
3. Close windows explorer
4. Open Garmin ANT Agent
5. Turn On Forerunner 910XT and bring within range of the ANT stick
6. ANT Agent will transfer software to device
For Mac OS:
1. Navigate to ~user/Library1/Application Support/Garmin/Devices/numbered Unit ID folder/
2. Unzip or drag and drop the files inside attachment to location above
3. Open Garmin ANT Agent
4. Turn On Forerunner 910XT and bring within range of the ANT stick
5. ANT Agent will transfer software to device
1On Mac OS 10.6 and higher: the Library folder is hidden. To get to Library:
1. Open Finder
2. Click Go in the top menu bar
3. Click Home
4. Click Go in the top menu bar
5. Click Go to Folder…
6. Type Library
7. Click Go

Does this procedure work to downgrade a Forerunner 410? If so, do you know where I can find older firmwares?.
Thanks
I doubt it very much. You will need to contact garmin support directly
Hi the5krunner,
I tried the procedure as my 910xt (with the 3.20 firmware) has some troubles with the barometer (sudden loss of altitude during rides, followed by a recovery of it that affects the total altitude gain).
This procedure did not work with me, maybe because of the new software (Garmin Express). Any idea on how re-install the firmware (an old one or re-install the 3.20v)?
Thanks a lot!
not sure it is poss on 910
on 920 you ‘just’ put the old firmware file into, from memory, the remotesw folder.
I don’t think you can access that folder on the 910
try the latest beta firmware maybe?
3.20v is the last one… 🙁
one other thing to try re altitude. there should be a tiny hole on the device somewhere. the size of a pin hole. clean it and your watch with soapy water. maybe there is dirt in this hole which might affect barometer? otherwise, if factory reset does not work, garmin or ebay are your only ports of call. many people would buy a device with faulty altimetry as many are not interested in that.
I’ve cleaned it out as you said and now it seems to be working properly. Thank you again
Hi,
The link to the old firmware version is broken. I mean the jpg is practically empty.
To be honest I have a firmware version I need, I downloaded it from gawisp.jerry.com. It was named ??????????.rgn which I renamed to gupdate.rgn, Then copied itto C:\Users\User account name\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Devices\numbered Unit ID folder, tried both ANT Agent and Garmin Express, but nothing happened.
Later I tried to put it to NewFiles directiory under the numbered_Unit_ID folder. But in vain.
So what could be the problem?
Sorry I mistyped the link that I used as the download source. It is http://www.gawisp.com/perry/forerunner/Forerunner910XT_320.rgn
no idea what that site is sorry.
the link should be ok? rename to a zip and it contains a 1.5mb region file
1. OK, I was dumb, indeed one can download the .rgn file of FW 2.60 from your site. Sorry for my clumsiness. And I spotted that there is an .udr file also in the .zip. So my problem was that although I could download the .rgn file from the link I sahred but there was no .udr available there.
2. Frankly speaking I need the FW3.20, because I wish to re-install it on my 910XT which already has 3.20, but started to behave oddly, like saving just part of my activities.
So you also have the files of FW version 3.20, too?
Thanks
No problem, first I reverted to 2.60 then installed 3.20 from the Garmin site.
or you could have done a factory reset of the current version.
is this a joke this dosent work.
it used to work if the instructions were followed
i am on 3.2 and generally a good read what to do.
I have downloaded changed to zip, opened zip and added to folder .
ironically that word should idea not read!
haven’t tested with firmware 3.2, sorry.
wow I hope I am not late to the party,
is there anyway you can get the 3.20 updates.udr file?
I can’t seem to update from 2.60 to 3.20 via Garmin Express, it just won’t sync at all, only Ant Agent is working well 🙁
i think there are ways and means to get hold of the old files but I’m sorry I can’t help there. best try garmin’s 910 forum
