German-based Canyon Bicycles GmbH, who also own the COAST brand, has been sold after it made it clear in October that more funds were needed to continue the current 25% y.o.y growth rate. At that time, investors Carlyle and Apax seemed to be prime contenders for a Eu500m deal, however, the new majority-owner is Groupe Bruxelles Lambert who have a wide portfolio os significant investments in companies like adidas (over 6% stake)
