Strava add Custom WAYPOINTS: Sync to Garmin
Custom Waypoints have long been available on cycling route planning platforms, even Garmin Connect has a great selection of custom waypoints that can be added to your newly planned routes to enrich their usefulness.
I used this on the PC interface and it will only be available if y ou are a subscriber.
Waypoints are automatically synced to Garmin Edge devices and when you follow the route, the custom WAYPOINT is shown in the list of other waypoints with a distance countdown as you approach it (UpAhead feature). A notification also appears on the bottom of the Edge when you get to the WAYPOINT.
Take Out
This is a sometimes useful feature that requires a little bit of effort to use even though it is easy to use. Perhaps you will only add them when creating important routes, maybe even ones you share with others. I think that’s where the edge comes in, race or trip organisers who plan to get a lot of people from A to B can enhance the ride experience by adding extra richness into the routes they send to athletes – coffee stops, water stations

This is useful not only for cyclists but also for runners. For example, this may be used to add aid stations on a race course when doing a trail race or water sources when doing a long self-supported run. I’ve been doing that for years, but now Strava makes that even easier.
Why has Komoot never come up with this feature yet. I’ve been waiting for years for that. I’m sick to use http://www.plotaroute.com for that!
