  1. Could this also be used by garmin to open up features on their watches? For example, ship a standard bit of hardware, but open up maps (for example) for a one time fee, or a time limited reduced one time fee? People who don’t use maps therefore don’t pay, or just pay £5 for a specific event where they may need the map.

    1. i think it’s specifically to what is delivered with ConnectIQ. so it could have been something like Garmin Running Power (taking an historic example of a Garmin app)
      Garmin sports profiles are app tho (just look in Garmin Express to see)
