FORM Smart Swim 2 Goggles: The Next Level in Swim Metrics for Serious Athletes
Starting November 5, 2024, FORM’s innovative Smart Swim 2 goggles will be hitting select Apple Store shelves across the US and Canada and available online at Apple.com for the US, Canada, and UK. These advanced goggles bring cutting-edge swim metrics to swimmers’ eyes, making them ideal for triathletes and serious swimmers aiming to maximise their training.
Key Features to Take Your Swim Training Further
FORM’s Smart Swim 2 is packed with features that cater directly to athletes who want detailed metrics without interrupting their flow. Here’s what makes these goggles a game-changer:
- Augmented Reality (AR) Display: FORM’s patented AR technology projects real-time metrics directly in the swimmer’s line of sight, allowing them to monitor performance data like split times, pace, and stroke rate.
- Heart Rate Monitoring: Paired heart rate sensors like Polar SENSE/OH1 track real-time heart rates, letting swimmers stay in their optimal training zones.
- SwimStraight Digital Compass: Open-water swimming is where navigation challenges can arise, and the SwimStraight feature helps keep swimmers straight. This tool is helpful for triathletes who avoid veering off track in any open water setting.
- Script Workout Import: This new feature lets swimmers import workout sets by pasting, scanning, or syncing content directly from training platforms, emails, or images. These workouts are loaded and ready to display in seconds, making training sessions smoother and faster to set up. (This tech is clever. You can write out your plan, and it digitises it into an executable structured workout.)
Award-Winning and Race-Approved
FORM’s Smart Swim 2 has already garnered industry recognition, winning “Best Wearable” at the 2024 Sports Technology Awards. It has also been positively reviewed on this site and others. It’s also race-approved by major triathlon organisations, including World Triathlon, USA Triathlon, British Triathlon, and the Professional Triathlon Organization (PTO), giving competitive athletes the confidence to use a top-tier product.
Pricing & FORM Premium
The Smart Swim 2 goggles are available for $249 (or £229) and include a free one-month trial of FORM Premium. FORM Premium unlocks thousands of curated workouts, 45 specialised training plans, HeadCoach technique analysis, TrainingPeaks and TriDot workout imports, and more. After the trial, FORM Premium is priced at $15/£13 per month or $99/£84 annually.
A New Era of Swimming Analytics
Whether you’re swimming laps in the pool or taking on open-water challenges, FORM’s Smart Swim 2 goggles provide the metrics-driven training serious athletes need to perform their best. With Apple’s premium retail experience, swimmers can try them on in-store or conveniently order online for a smooth shopping season. For dedicated swimmers, these goggles are a step toward higher performance and precision in every stroke.

Take Out
Apple and Garmin are the watches whose owners are the most likely to buy FORM in number. Getting stocked in Apple stores is a masterstroke for FORM, and it will gain severe levels of kudos with this move.
The ecosystem is good, and the Googles are good. There are some great swim plans and technique insights, and the product is fundamentally a firm aid to bring precision to your training AND RACING.
My only criticisms of the product are twofold: I would love to see much higher-resolution digits beamed into view. I sometimes got slightly disorientated when using the goggles as the field of vision is somewhat restricted. You also run the risk of a sub-optimal fit and leaks, but I was generally lucky in that regard.
It is a good present for a triathlete at Christmas.
