Amazfit Helio Arm Sleeve: How to Wear It Properly and Stop the Pod Flipping
Recovery bands like Whoop, Helio, and Polar LOOP 2 are super convenient formats for grabbing performance, sleep, and recovery metrics without the bulk and weight of a display. They need no interaction but are still subject to the same inaccuracy issues on the wrist as every other piece of sports tech designed to be worn there.

The main benefit of the straps is that they can be worn elsewhere. Whoop has a whole host of clothing items with pockets, including shorts, bras, and more. To date, Amazfit has only sold a longer strap for the Helio band to fit around your biceps. Now it’s selling a sleeve – similar to Whoop’s.
Q: Why the Bicpes?
A: It will certainly be more accurate than the wrist. In my case, I’d say ‘accurate enough’.
Q: Why a sleeve?
A: It holds the pod in place and stops any chance of external light straying in to spoil the readings. A benefit most people miss out on is that the pod won’t flip when you wear a sleeve, and other benefits include a smoother look and feel (minor)
Q: Any downsides?
A: Yep. You need to wash them more. They look big to some people, they’re more expensive and will wear out after a year or so, in my experience with other brands is anything to go by
