Expert opinion

The Helio Ring is a sleep and recovery tracker aimed at athletes who already own an Amazfit watch and do not want to wear it overnight. It reads heart rate, blood-oxygen, stress and skin temperature from the finger, and adds an EDA sensor for emotional state tracking. There is no subscription requirement for the core metrics, which separates it from Whoop.

The ring is titanium, under 4g, and 2.6mm thin, so it is comfortable to sleep in. Its readiness score merges with data from a paired Amazfit watch. Battery life of up to four days is short by smart ring standards, and early buyers reported occasional connection drops that require a factory reset. The ring is a companion device, not a standalone tracker, and its value depends on already being inside the Zepp ecosystem.

The four-day figure is based on heart rate and stress monitoring at 10-minute intervals, assisted sleep monitoring on, and blood-oxygen and sleep breathing quality off. Enabling continuous blood-oxygen or automatic emotion monitoring shortens battery life.

Data fusion

The Helio Ring merges its recovery data with a paired Amazfit watch, so readiness draws on both devices. Amazfit lists data fusion support across the Performance, Adventure, Lifestyle, Essential and Zepp watch series, including the Cheetah Pro, T-Rex Ultra, T-Rex 2, T-Rex Pro, T-Rex, Balance, Active, Falcon, and the GTR and GTS ranges, alongside Bip models and Zepp Z and E. The ring works as a background tracker while the watch handles workouts, with all data presented together in the Zepp App.
