Expert opinion
The Helio Strap offers a minimalist approach to health and recovery tracking, focusing on continuous heart rate, sleep quality, recovery metrics, and training load without a display. Its lightweight 20g design and subscription-free platform make it an alternative to products like Whoop, particularly for athletes who already wear a smartwatch during training.
It is best viewed as a complementary recovery device rather than a complete fitness tracker, since it relies on a connected phone or watch for GPS activities. The BioTracker 6.0 sensor can be worn on the upper arm using the armband extension for more stable readings during dynamic movement. Heart rate broadcasts to Amazfit watches, cycling computers, and fitness apps, and stores offline for up to 21 days.
