Expert opinion
The Garmin Edge 1050 sits at the top of Garmin’s cycling computer range, with the most advanced rider-focused features Garmin offers on a premium build. The 480 x 800 pixel touchscreen at 1,000 nits is brighter and more responsive than any previous Edge, running road hazard awareness, group ride tools, Garmin Pay, and Garmin’s full training analysis suite.
Against the Edge 1040 Solar it trades battery endurance for that brighter display and faster hardware, and its size and price sit well above what a casual cyclist needs.
