27% of Brits think they could qualify for the LA Olympics in 2028
Wow, I never realised I shared a country with so many deluded people.
YouGov’s Research
YouGov is a credible market research agency and they recently polled 2070 adults, none of whom were sectioned in a mental hospital. Yet 27% of my fellow countrymen/women thought that they could qualify for LA 2028 ‘if they trained‘.
And it wasn’t just the usually over-confident men, the women surveyed were either almost equally as stupid or mischievous in their responses.
Sport Breakdowns
Some of you might also have fallen into the same trap as me…surely it’s possible to qualify for the shooting event? and archery? Well, 9% thought they could give the Chinese a run for their money in table tennis…jeez.
Is the 100m a problem? Nah, we’re ace in this country. 6% of us could qualify for that.

That is crazy but also wildly funny 🙂 You should be proud though that so many people believe in themselves.
In real life it would probably be closer to 0.27% of the population that would be able to do qualify..
Might be able to sit in the road race peloton for a few minutes, and I can run the Marathon race pace for at least a few hundred meters.
Don’t think I have ever been able to run 40km/h that the 100m runners do!
Not sure any of that qualifies me though?

Can’t blame ’em for thinking so highly of such fast paced and action-packed “sports” like air gun shooting!
I think that survey most importantly shows how much appreciated some “sports” are.
