Hilarious April Fools Continue from Wahoo, Garmin and Apple
I was slightly disappointed that many of you considered my coverage of Garmin’s U-Turn on subscription pricing an April Fool’s joke – it’s real, Garmin has U-turned. Tut tut you doubters.
Here are some of the funnier and cleverer ones from the sports tech world. Please post any of them below, even from competitor sites.
Wahoo Earth
A great way to get your KICKR RUN treadmill to have a real outdoor surface feeling. Simply sprinkle some of Wahoo’s magic dust over your KICKR RUN smart treadmill, and you’re good to go on a simulated trail in the comfort of your shed.
I loved the attention to detail with the choice of surface type. However, if you ordered the SNOW surface type, Wahoo would find it challenging to get the non-liquid water version to you. For GBP200, I reckon they’d try.

dcrainmkaer on the Vivoactive 6
Today, Ray has kindly played along with Garmin’s comic announcement of the Vivoactive 6. Of course, it’s really just a rehashed Vivoactive 5 with a few new features added via firmware. It’s funny because Garmin has never done that before.
Oh. Wait a minute.
Apple Watch Prototype Sensor (Blood Pressure?)
@Stella Fudge seems to have found a Watch 10 with an unusual sensor integrated into it and running an unreleased build of watchOS 11. This is a fake take on Apple, which probably hasn’t got a blood pressure product almost ready, but it was published on 1st April and given some credence by Gadgets & Wearables. The sensor looks normal to me, but I only gave it about 10 seconds of my attention; if you dwelt longer and did some research, let me know below.
Prototype Apple Watch Series 10 with… A very unique health sensor arrangement.
The health sensors got shrunk down a lot and there was an extra light ring around the perimeter. The watch is also running an unreleased build of watchOS11, somewhere between 11.1b5 and 11.1rc. pic.twitter.com/8n06JkQT39

Nakan
Nakan is always reliable when it comes to April Fool’s posts. He reports that Swiss brand Omega has acquired Polar and secured the rights for Polar to put the first smartwatch on Mars. That’s one mission where you can’t forget the charger! Even a Garmin Instinct wouldn’t get there still working.
