cancel Garmin Connect+ – here’s how
You signed up for the free, initial trial of Garmin Connect+ and will soon receive two emails with a bill and confirmation of renewal. Act quickly before the money is taken.
Like me, you’ll almost certainly realise that Connect+ is not worth the money and want to cancel.
I paid with PayPal and immediately cancelled the renewal authorisation to stop Garmin from taking the money, knowing I might forget to cancel. If you’ve stopped the authorisation, you shouldn’t have to do anything else, but your account at garmin.com will still show the Connect+ monthly subscription plan. Go there and cancel it using this link.
A well timed reminder. I cancelled my trial weeks ago and the trial recently ended. I had another look at what I would be missing out on and thought “not much outside of live activities”.
Connect Plus needs to add a whole lot more value for me to get interested in subscribing.
Not worth it at all. Somewhat fearful of what is to come with this, but am in the process of moving away from Garmin and will probably not be super impacted by this longterm.
Saw an interesting article where they polled whether people were willing to pay for Apple Intelligence and a good bit of folks said yes. This is shocking considering how terrible Apple Intelligence is at present. The reason I bring it up is I feel like Garmin closely watches how Apple does things and emulates them on many levels.
At present still super happy with TrainingPeaks and have been playing around with Runalyze and Intervals.icu. TBH without these I would have left Garmin a long time ago based on how horrible the Connect app is and how unattractive and clunky it is for day to day use.
The Coros app has been a great experience from the app point of view. But I do question some of Coros’ metrics. (DC Rainmaker hangover/programing)
TrainingPeaks has an app, but it is also not super useful day to day and Intervals.icu is also better viewed as a web page.
I don’t need that much data in my face, but it is nice to see workouts in a concise one page/scroll down type format. Connect is awful as I finish a workout. The first page is so basic and then I have to go trolling to find the info I want from an activity. As Charlie Brown says, “Good Grief!”
All that to say, Connect Plus did nothing to fix these problems with the Connect App. If anything it alienated me with a super embarrassing star on my profile that made me feel like a Garmin toady and further cluttered the app with useless info.
Cancelled of course. Garmin AI is a joke, super basic stuff. Not even worth reading the message after each activity. They need to link several activities and measurements together and conclude then.
Liking it & keeping it! Yeah the AI can be cheesy but the other stuff is good. Strava is similar but more costly – so will keep that one for free. Won’t use Apple Fitness but do have an Apple phone. Everything on there is free but also have an Android still. Love my Garmin & won’t give it up
Hi, i saw that too
I wonder how much it’s cost Garmin in lost revenue because of the bad Publicity compared to how much it’s made them. Not many I know have signed up to it.
I doubt it cost Garmin much at all.
Agreed i don’t hear of many people who want to continue paying for it.
