Pidcock Descends w/Red Bull awesome Alpine video – and a sneaky uphill KOM
There’s a great new video from Red Bull, below, of Tom Pidcock descending the Rossfeld Panoramastrasse, beautifully shot and produced.
I don’t know about you, but whenever there’s an ‘8’ at the start of a speed number on a bike, I get scared, even though I’ve raced cars and karts at significantly greater speeds. Me going in a straight line is probably relatively ‘safe’ at those levels, but Mr Pidcock isn’t exactly slowing down much for the corners either, cranking out some nice watts at the exits.
The comic bit at the end of the video is where he ties himself to the motorbike with a rope, and he and the bike rider are overheard discussing a 120km/h uphill attempt with it. That’s one way to get a KOM I suppose.
I’ve also linked his victory on the Queen Stage (Alpe d’Huez) at the 2022 TdF, but I guess most of you’ve seen that…one of my favourites. Dreaming is free!
