Garmin Connect Rundown: What’s in the Annual Report Leak

This month’s leak from Garmin is an annual summary, which is expected to be available in both the online and app versions of Garmin Connect. The new feature is called “Garmin Connect Rundown,” a private annual summary of your 2025 fitness journey.

Sporting Achievements

Garmin’s existing PB/PRs sometimes become meaningless as our fitness levels change with age. As you get older, maybe it will never be possible to hit the heady height of ‘the good old days’. That’s why annual achievements are a great idea, giving a milestone of your recent ability. Your best are covered across these sports.

  • Running: Fastest 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon; longest run.
  • Cycling: Quickest 40K, most elevation gain, longest ride, max avg power.
  • Swimming: Speediest 100m/yd, 400m, 1000m/yd, up to 1650 yd.
  • Strength: PRs in deadlift, bench press, squat, row, and overhead press.
  • Parasports: Fastest pushes for 1K, 5K, 10K, mile, half/full marathon; longest streak. Longest step or push streaks.

Clearly, the focus is on triathlon sports, and it is a nice touch to include para sports.

Achievement Contextualised

There is something for everyone. So, those who are not race-oriented will see different measures of annual accumulated effort, sometimes expressed in fun terms.

  • Distance: Monthly totals; longest activity mapped. Fun: “391 trips down an airport runway” or “crossing the English Channel 6 times.”
  • Elevation: Peak climbs equated to the Eiffel Tower (24 times) or Mount Everest twice.
  • Calories: Burned “847 slices of chocolate cake.”
  • Time: “16 entire days of moving.”
  • Steps: “Over 7 miles—more than 18 marathons.”

Rather than a bland series of achievements or sentences, some will be charted and also show monthly trends throughout the year.

Recovery and Wellness

Your sleep and stress performance is also not forgotten

  • Sleep: Avg duration/score; highest Garmin Sleep Score night; “89 nights with 8+ hours” or “80 score.”
  • Body Battery: Avg daily charge/drain/high; your body charged to 100%+ on 43 days.

Activity Breakdown

Your favourite (top) activity also gets a deep dive with a look at monthly counts

  • Top activity highlighted (“running was your top”);
  • total activities;
  • monthly counts.
  • Pushes: Most in a day (12 on October 14).

Take Out

This reminded me a little of the Morning Report and Evening Report features. If you summarise the day, why not summarise the year as well.

That said, the annual summary is probably more of a fun feature, slightly useful for personal records, but not as useful as the daily summaries.

Very nice to have, though. Thank you, Garmin
