Expert opinion

Street X is Polar’s first watch built for a different buyer than the rest of the range: an urban, multi-activity user rather than a single-discipline endurance athlete. It carries the same recovery science as the Vantage and Grit X ranges (Training Load Pro, Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages, FuelWise) with no subscription paywall, at roughly a third of the price of the Grit X2 Pro.

The trade-off is hardware generation. Street X uses the Precision Prime Gen 3.5 optical sensor, one generation behind the Elixir platform in the Vantage V3 and Grit X2, and its GNSS chipset is single-frequency with no GLONASS support, where the Vantage and Grit X2 models carry dual-frequency positioning across five constellations. There are no onboard maps; navigation is limited to route guidance imported via Komoot or Polar Flow, plus a compass and barometer. An integrated LED flashlight with a red-light mode and a MIL-STD-810H rating are unique to Street X within the current Polar watch range.
