Apple AirPods 3 – September 2021

Apple Airpods 3 - September 2021

Apple AirPods 3 – release in September 2021

It looks like we shall see a mega-launch of Apple products in September with the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7 and AirPods 3. Almost certainly, the single launch date will be Tuesday 10th September…news cycles are important and that date is the obvious choice to optimise coverage.

What to look out for

  • First update since 2019
  • These will NOT come pre-bundled with iPhone 13.
  • Support for Apple LOSSLESS audio (you’ll need a lossless source of audio and a lossless CODEC to hear improvements in audio quality)
  • Sweet but small battery life increases
  • Possible removal of Active Noise Cancellation
  • Similar design to AirPod 2
  • Similar price to AirPod 2

And of course. A new version of AirPods means that version 2 will start to be discounted…enjoy !! I’ll add some discounted prices in below if and when available.

How do we know this is true?

A: There are multiple reports of shipments and production by 3rd party component suppliers.

My favourite kit and nutrition

  • Maurten — the race nutrition trusted by elite athletes. Gels and drink mix engineered to be easy on the stomach.
  • Garmin 90-degree charging adapter — the small adapter that keeps your charging cable tidy at the stem. Essential for race day.
  • Garmin charging puck — the fastest and most reliable way to top up your Garmin before a session.
  • Ravemen FR300 — front light that mounts directly under your Garmin or Wahoo head unit. Keeps your bars clean and your beam pointed where it matters.
  • Garmin Varia RTL515 — radar rear light that alerts you to vehicles approaching from behind. Pairs with your Edge or Garmin watch.
  • Stryd — the footpod that brings running power to your Garmin. The single most useful running upgrade I have made.
  • Favero Assioma Pro RS2 — the power meter pedals most serious cyclists end up choosing. Accurate, easy to move between bikes.
