MYWHOOSH 3.8
MyWhoosh 3.8 is now live and adds new worlds, new tech and new features. It’s a fairly big update and still a free alternative to Zwift.

NEW WORLDS
Along with the 26.9km Switzerland ‘world’ we now have the imaginary MyWhoosh world covering a more impressive 333.59km.
TECHNICAL ENHANCEMENTS
Avatars and animation are now more lifelike and more customisable.
Gameplay also sees the Power Input Lag reduced to the sub-second range.
FEATURES
There is a new night mode and a slightly improved Ride Leader chat.
Many more garage items include 5 new bikes, 7 wheelsets, 4 helmets, and 25 redesigned jerseys. For the digitally extrovert, how about Neon Wheelsets in shades like Sapphire, Fire Opal, Emerald, and Amethyst – only unlocked at higher levels?
I’ve not yet tried the free running facility on MyWhoosh. This was first introduced a few months ago but now also includes support for new sensors and the data they produce including Stryd, Assault Runner Pro, Garmin HRM devices, and NPE Runn sensors.
There’s a new Elimination Race event just like in track cycling where the last rider to cross the finish line is eliminated.
‘What’s New’ Notifications will appear when starting the app, providing details about upcoming events, and new features.
Interestingly Mywhoosh now claims to show the total number of active riders in specific worlds and routes on the app. In recent months I have noticed a significant increase in the number of riders I encounter, however, I remember MANY of the names from previous rides and suspect they might be unofficial bots.
There is now a Season Pass, which marks a further step to paid-for services on this otherwise free platform. The new Season Pass covers 90 days and includes 60 days of active challenges and a 30-day cooldown period for claiming rewards.
THOUGHTS
Welcomed improvements.
I would be most happy with the distances to other riders showing as road distances rather than as-the-crow-flys distances. I’m just popping out for a short ride on it…no doubt having written this I’ll find the ‘problem’ solved 🙂
The more I use it, the more I appreciate this sw. it still lacks polish but it’s getting better each release.
The most difficult thing being resist the peer pressure to go back to Z
